Our proprietary vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) technology is a cloud-based, centralized system that connects vehicles to traffic signals to provide prioritization of buses, pedestrians, EMS vehicles, and others.

This approach capitalizes on existing traffic management infrastructure and cellular data, rather than requiring dedicated roadside equipment. This makes deployment dramatically easier and more cost-efficient for cities, provides flexibility to the existing traffic network, and supports expansion to other future applications, such as HOV preference and autonomous vehicle programs. SPS also provides dramatic time savings for cities and can be deployed city-wide or fleet-wide in a matter of weeks, as opposed to potential years with traditional solutions.

Unlike other connected-vehicle initiatives, our approach uses your existing infrastructure, requiring neither costly municipal infrastructure investments nor the addition of dedicated hardware to every vehicle and signalized intersection. By comparison, the USDoT’s Dedicated Short-Range Communications program will require billions of dollars (on the order of $20K/intersection) and years to implement; most of the expected benefits won’t be realized until there is very substantial coverage of both vehicles and intersections.

V2If Signal Feed Appliance

Connected Signals offers a free hardware solution to municipalities wishing to provide their data to us. V2If is a small device, about the size of a pack of cards, that allows municipalities to securely and easily distribute real-time traffic signal data to selected third parties of their choosing. V2If uses two Ethernet ports to preserve network security. One port plugs into the switch that connects cities to their traffic lights, while the other connects to the outside world. As a municipality, you retain control of your data and its distribution.
