Dennis Capovilla is a Silicon Valley executive whose 25+ year career has included C-level and senior management positions at Fortune 100, microcap, and startup companies. He currently serves as full-time Executive Chairman of Connected Signals Inc., a connected-car data company that gets real-time predictive traffic light information into cars.
As President and CEO of Southwall Technologies, an innovative thin film technology company focused on energy efficiency products for the automotive and architectural markets, Mr. Capovilla restructured and turned around the underperforming company. He revitalized R&D, expanded sales, drove M&A activities, and took the company on NASDAQ. Ultimately, he executed a strategic exit with Southwall’s successful sale to Solutia.
As President and CEO of Fatbrain, a pioneering e-commerce company, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year for Technology by the Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2000. Mr. Capovilla oversaw Fatbrain’s explosive growth and played a key role in the company’s NASDAQ IPO. He later achieved a successful exit for Fatbrain by engineering the sale of the company to Barnes & Noble.
In previous roles Mr. Capovilla served as Director of Apple’s $250M Imaging Division and as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Business at Palm where he restructured the company’s go-to-market strategy and created numerous verticals for mobile devices. Mr. Capovilla also held numerous sales leadership positions with the Xerox Corporation.
